HIDING PLACE

Did you ever have a favorite childhood hiding place, a place where you felt safe from the world? I used to love to play under my grandma’s huge willow tree, its branches reaching all the way to the ground, surrounding me with a curtain of green. My hiding place.

Life can be challenging! We never really know what the next bump in the road will be. But the wonderful thing about knowing Jesus is that He knows about every single bump, every single heartache, every doubt and fear. He saw it coming. When we feel overwhelmed, we can hide in Him.

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7). There is a secret place of safety for us when we reach out to Him. It is in His Presence, in His Throne Room, where no evil can touch us. There we are protected from the enemy; there we are surrounded with songs of deliverance. This is where we live, this is the air we breathe. As the old song says, He’s as close as the mention of His Name.

Do you think that is too good to be true? Give it a try. Just whisper that Name that is above every other name. Jesus. His peace will come.
