A haiki is, by definition, a Japanese poem of 17 lines (5 plus 7 plus 5), usually about nature. They are fun to compose. Here is a joint effort by us and our 17 year old grandson:
Rich so dark so deep
That which steams the sleep away (best line, my grandson’s)
Java wakes to life
